Christmas time is here, and so are all of the holiday parties and weddings!
It's often hard to find just the right outfit to wear for a wedding, but this can be especially true during the fall and winter season in Texas. The weather can be so unpredictable here that it makes dressing appropriately difficult. Today, I'm sharing one of my favorite dresses ever with y'all and why I chose to wear it to a few weddings.
Last year, my college roommate was getting married and was planning the perfect December wedding. I knew it would be around Christmas time because she loves Christmas probably more than anyone else I know. She would set up her Christmas decorations the day after Halloween and skip right over Thanksgiving. Even our college townhouse was decorated to the nines for Christmas, so I knew her wedding would be even more special. As her big day was quickly approaching, I realized I had NO idea of what to wear and had nothing in my closet. Thankfully, I had an idea of what her bridesmaids' dresses were like so I thought a floor length dress would be appropriate. Once I had the idea, I reached out to my best friend to help me find the perfect dress on a budget and she quickly directed me to Lulu's. There, I found this beautiful purple maxi dress with gold detailing. I especially loved the halter neckline and the cut out details in the back. I believed the color wouldn't conflict with her color scheme, it wouldn't be too dressy, and because it was in December, the longer length would keep me warm. After a full evening of dancing and celebrating love, this dress was the perfect fit.
Shortly after, Ryan and I were invited to his friend from college's wedding. When we received the invitation, I knew his wedding was sure to be a stunning black tie affair in San Antonio. Without hesitation, I knew I would have a chance to wear this dress again. Because it was a formal wedding, I knew the floor length gown would be appropriate, and the simple silhouette would be fitting for the formal ceremony. All I needed was a light scarf to wear as a shawl to cover my shoulders for the church ceremony.
This dress has been perfect for holiday weddings and parties. I love how I feel confident and beautiful when I wear it, and I have loved getting to wear it to so many special events even more!
