The boardwalk at Lady Bird Lake overlooking the city is one of my favorite spots in Austin, and I always knew it would be! This was actually my first time visiting the boardwalk (so sad, I know!), but ever since we moved to Austin a few years ago I have wanted to come down here and take in the views of the skyline and I'm so glad we finally made it happen! The scenery is so pretty, and the hill country sun setting over the skyline makes the city truly shine.
I wore some of my closet staples for this chilly afternoon at the boardwalk, including my go-to utility jacket from Madewell, peplum sweater from Banana Republic, dark skinny Articles of Society jeans from Nordstrom, and my perforated tan booties. This jacket quickly became a staple because it's so easy to grab and take with you wherever you go, and is perfect for the fickle Texas weather that can take you from fall, to winter, and right into spring. I dressed up this cream peplum sweater with this vintage neck scarf that was given to me by Ryan's grandmother. I love that these classic accessories which remind me of the golden days have made a comeback this past year, and I anticipate we will see even more of them this spring and summer. At least around here, you will! Neck scarves are so versatile and easily add some subtle flair to a simple outfit, especially when the weather gets warm...so, like, tomorrow.
This certainly won't be the first, or last time you see me wearing these pieces on the blog. I love re-imagining ways I can wear my favorite pieces in my closet, and I will certainly be finding new ways to wear these accessories this spring!
This certainly won't be the last time we visit the boardwalk, either! I envision many more bike rides, picnics, sunset strolls and memories made in our city from right here.
Thanks for stopping by y'all!
